With the growth and
expansion of the hospital, the need was felt for a school
of nursing where young girls would be trained. Besides professional
skills the Institution desires to instill in young women
a spirit of selfless dedication to the cause of the sick
and ailing, thus bringing wholeness.
This is the goal of the Hospital Mission
after the example of Christ. The philosophy of the school
is derived from the hospital. Every patient should be given
quality care for which the student nurse should be equally
groomed. The young women who are taught nursing procedures
should be able to develop their skills both in the hospital
and the community at large, for the prevention of illness,
promotion of health and curing of disease. The Christian Doctrine
is very unequivocal on the dignity of the individual and human
life, and these concepts are ingrained in the care of the
sick and suffering and the student nurse is inspired to do
all in her power to promote the physical, mental, social and
spiritual well being of the patient.
